On June 9, 2011, Sylvia Freygner hosted the first economic discussion of the Women’s Salon under the title, „What Are Women Achieving in the 21st Century?“
Participants in the distinguished panel included Dr. Ursula Plassnik (former Austrian Federal Minister), Mag. Tatjana Oppitz (General Director of IBM Austria), Dr. Edith Schlaffer (Chairwoman of Women Without Borders), and Sherrie Doyan de Toma (Executive Director of UBS Wealth Management Vienna).
The discussion focused on how political and economic empowerment can foster greater prosperity in society and the role female role models and networks play in this process. Women’s networking was highlighted as a crucial tool for mutual motivation and support to drive even greater change in the future.
