Thanks to the initiative of Dr. Sylvia Freygner, the Women in Franchising | Award was presented for the first time this year. During the opening at the offices of Wiener Städtische Versicherung, Sylvia Freygner highlighted the vast opportunities and possibilities for women in building franchise business concepts. Five selected mentees were mentored by experienced professionals for a year, supported in their journey to self-employment, and their business ideas were evaluated and awarded by a distinguished jury.
In her inspiring keynote, „Women on the Rise,“ Sita Mazumder encouraged young entrepreneurs to emphasize their individuality and cultivate greater self-confidence. Moderated by Sylvia Steinitz (WIENERIN), a lively panel discussion on the topic „Why Women Are Better at Saying No“ explored the challenges and opportunities of balancing work and family life.
The highlight of the evening was the recognition of the Franchise Mentoring Program. Peter Bosek (Board Member of Erste Bank) presented the award to the winner, Sylvie Chin, for her successful project Clear Karma, amid great applause. Additional prizes were awarded by Johann Moser (AWSG) and Christian Pöttler (echo medienhaus) to Susanne Dreier-Phan Quoc, Angela Dus (both tea-licious), and Isabelle Mathé.
